These images of spirits and ghosts are from a lost Spiritualist archive of original glass plate photographs.

This photograph may be one of the first orb ever to be captured on camera!

Since the advent of digital cameras many people believe that the spirit world can make contact with us though orb photography. Spiritualists often saw Spirit Lights that would manifest for everyone who was present to see. Unlike orbs they were tangible lights that could be seen with the physical eye.

Modern day orbs may be a real communication from the spirit world or they may simply be the effect of a misfiring digital camera or particles of dust and water that are captured by a short focal length. I have written about orbs in some depth here: What Are Orbs?
