"Can you work out where this photograph was taken. It is Armistice Day and the 'Dropping of the Poppies' ceremony is taking place in the Royal Albert Hall.

A lady whose was a Roman Catholic, took this photograph of the poppy dropping ceremony and this is the result.

You won't be surprised to learn that this lady eventually allowed her mediumship to unfold and became a Spiritualist."

These images of spirits and ghosts are from a lost Spiritualist archive of original glass plate photographs.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Spiritualism the appearance of objects out of nowhere is often called a materialisation whereas an object that has disappeared from one place and reappeared somewhere else is known as an apport. Both of these phenomena have regularly been reported to have occurred at Spiritualist circles. This may have been one of the first times that these phenomena have been captured on camera.
